I have a snowman collection. This is my first snowman. He started it all. Purchased on a trip with friends he is still one of my favorites. Large, small and in-between. Metallic and sparkly, soft and white, hard and glassy. There's every kind of snowman inside my cabinet. They never melt and have given me many hours of enjoyment.
But as I get older I find I am not as interested in collecting things. I'm starting a new collection. I'm going to collect experiences. Playing with my young grandchildren, taking trips with the older ones. Traveling with my husband. Visiting my daughters and their significant others. Hugging my Dad for as long as he's around. Meeting new people and helping those along the way. Time becomes more precious every year. I will use it wisely and with joy.
This collection won't sit in my cabinet. I'll have to store it in my heart.
