This weekend The Wistful Grandma gets to take a little vacation. I am going to spend time for the 39th consecutive year with two college classmates. We have been blessed to be able to get together and celebrate our friendship with conversation, shopping, food, drink and companionship. It is rare in life to possess friends for such a long time and I cherish it.
We exchange Christmas presents when we meet. We agreed years ago that we all have enough Christmas decorations so I started giving gifts for other seasons and holidays. This lear I come to the end of my gift list for these ladies started back in 2007. That was three sons-in-law, two grandchildren, several jobs and many personal changes ago. It is good to know that despiteithese changes and our three very different paths in life, our friendship remainis constant.
Somewhere along the way three college students turned into three older ladies. But as long as I am able to put the pedal to the metal, walk (ambulatory aids approved if needed), laugh and have fun you will not find me at home once a year. I'll be delivering Christmas presents off of my new 10-year list to two wonderful friends.
